About CPERA

The Center for Public Education Research and Accountability (CPERA) is an independent, nonpartisan organization advocating for bold changes in U.S. public education. We are focused on ensuring every student (particularly the most vulnerable, disadvantaged, and underserved) gains the literacy skills necessary to experience genuine freedom through the pursuit of their own interests in an attempt to achieve the American Dream.

We specialize in analysis of reading outcomes using NAEP data to give superintendents, school boards, state policy teams, education watchdogs, and legal experts pursuing eduation-related or civil rights litigation the evidence they need to hold systems accountable and make meaningful changes to U.S. public education.
